Use Your Pocket PC as a Remote Control for Windows XP Media Center Edition
Posted by Darius Wey in "SOFTWARE" @ 09:00 AM

While the PPC Tablet 3.0 contest was running last week, I decided to write a Media Center plug-in for the application. With it, you can turn your Pocket PC into a fully-functional Windows XP Media Center Edition remote that works over any ActiveSync connection or wired/wireless network connection.

Connect easily: PPC Tablet loads the Media Center plug-in and connects directly to the Remote Control Server running on your Media Center PC.

Navigate easily: Tap the Green Button on the Media Center plug-in to begin. The plug-in contains all the familiar buttons of a standard Media Center remote.
For directional navigation, alongside its on-screen buttons, the Media Center plug-in also supports the D-pad and action button on the Pocket PC. You can also use SIPs where text-based entry is required (e.g. Messenger).
I've released the Media Center plug-in as a free download for all Pocket PC Thoughts members. You can find it in the Downloads forum of this site.
