HP Printing Updated! Now It's Even Easier
Posted by Brad Adrian in "SOFTWARE" @ 07:55 AM
HP made a lot of people happy a while back when they released their HP Mobile Printing for the Pocket PC tool (especially since it was free!). For those of us who occasionally need to print directly from our devices, it was a very welcome step. Now, HP has made mobile printing even simpler with its release of an updated (version 4.0) Mobile Printing application.
The nicest feature of this updated version is that it's not really a separate application any more. All you have to do is locate the file you want to print with File Explorer, tap-and-hold on the filename and VOILA! the print option appears in the drop-down menu.
Installation is a snap. In fact, I neglected to uninstall the earlier version and this new one installed right on top of it without any problems. Within a matter of about 60 seconds after installation, you should be able to get it configured and ready to go.
Like the earlier version, this works great with infrared, Bluetooth and networked printers. Remember, though, that it's really intended for use with native Pocket PC applications (Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, etc.), so don't expect it to work with your other applications. Still, it's a nice tool to have. It is still FREE and available for download from the HP site.
