F/S Pocket Loox 400 Approved by FCC

iPAQabilities spotted an article at Brighthand which said the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) had approved an unknown Pocket PC from High Tech Computer (who manufacture a variety of Pocket PCs). The FCC grant permission to release wireless products in the United States and documents describing these are usually uploaded into a public area of their database. So, a search of the FCC database can often give interesting insights into new wireless Pocket PCs coming down the line, such as this one which turned out to be the new Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket LOOX 400.
Brighthand then posted a second story about this: "This upcoming model will use Windows Mobile 2003, though it isn't known if this will be the Second Edition. It will have a 300 MHz Intel PXA255 XScale processor and 64 MB of RAM. It will also have 32 MB of ROM........The Pocket Loox 400 will also include an SD slot that supports SDIO, which means it will be able to use both memory cards and non-memory peripherals that plug into the SD slot. This will be its only slot."
The user manual can be found here and contains the following specifications:
The manual also talks about Wi-Fi being an optional extra, with Bluetooth included in all models.
Now maybe it's just me, but I'm finding it hard to be exited by this new release. :? I'm sure it's very nice and all, but I thought we had already seen the last of the previous generation of hardware. The LOOX 400 may very well run Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, but if it does, it will be the most cutting edge thing about it. Don't call us, we'll call you. :idontthinkso: Next!
