Frank McPherson over at PocketPCHow2.com was recently pouring over a news item about Siemens and AT&T launching a new business service, when he came across this line:
"AT&T Wireless also introduced the Siemens SX56, a combination handheld computer-cell phone based on Pocket PC, Microsoft's software that allows users to swap instant messages, make phone calls and access business and personal information."

This isn't any kind of new Phone Edition device; it's the same one produced by HTC for T-Mobile. However, it will be available in at least a couple of "flavours," one for enterprises and another for small office/home office users. This is pure speculation, but my guess is that the only difference between the versions will be in the software that's bundled with the device.
I think this is great news. First, it's good to see that the number of mobile operators offering the Pocket PC Phone Edition is increasing. Second, I'm glad that a company as good at producing enterprise applications as Siemens is getting involved in supporting this useful business tool.
