Zumobi Delivers Xbox 360 and Ski Updates for Windows Mobile

"Feed your need for Xbox 360 info & stories all day long while on the go (or stuck in meetings). You're just a few clicks away from enjoying Xbox 360 news, video & audio clips, community updates, gamer tag status, and more on your iPhone, iPod Touch, Windows Mobile phone or BlackBerry device."

Zumobi and Microsoft have teamed up to deliver what is apparently the only Microsoft-endorsed mobile application for Xbox. The NXE-themed Inside Xbox 360 offers the latest news, trailers, and updates from Xbox.com, the Xbox Live Marketplace, Gamerscore Blog, and Major Nelson, and also a way to tap into your and your friends' gamertags. It's riddled with ads, but if you can look past that, it's a decent application.

If Xbox isn't your thing, but skiing is, check out the new REI Ski and Snow Report.

Lenovo and Intel Launch Mobile Widget for Summer Games

"Lenovo brings the Games to your phone. Follow the Olympic athletes on their journey to Beijing. Download free mobile widgets for your Windows Mobile, BlackBerry or iPhone keep up with the athletes as they strive for Olympic Gold! It's totally free, customizable and ready for you to download now!"

I just received word that Lenovo and Intel have created some widgets for Zumobi that will allow you to follow the Olympic athletes on their journey to the Olympic Games in Beijing. The best part is, according to the Zumobi website, this is a completely free download that is customizable and ready for your handset. I haven't had a chance to download this application to give it a try since I have been on the road almost all day but if you are like everyone else and have the Olympics on the brain then I recommend giving this application a download!

Zumobi

"Zumobi, the innovative mobile widget platform, announced its latest release for Windows Mobile. The updated application delivers new features and functionality to improve user experience and give the growing number of Zumobi users greater content from which to choose. One of the most compelling features of the new release is a Tile Wizard, which allows users to easily create their own Zumobi mobile widgets. Users can choose the look and feel of these widgets, stream data from their choice of RSS feeds, and turn personal blogs and favorite Web content into Zumobi Tiles they can enjoy as well as share with friends. Another new feature accompanying this release is the on-phone Tile Gallery, which enables users to select and upload Tiles directly from their mobile handset, allowing Zumobi users to explore and swap new content in and out while on-the-go. Zumobi also has produced a streamlined client for faster downloads of the application and a smaller on-phone footprint."

Create your own Zumobi tile with nothing more than an RSS feed - hmm, not a bad addition to their widget engine. This is how widgets should be - accessible to all and easy to create! Now if I can just find a few people that use Zumobi, I'd be in business. Is it more widespread than I think? Zumobi users, speak up!
