Qi U2000: 5" Touchscreen Monster

Posted by Nurhisham Hussein in "Other Windows Phones" @ 09:00 PM

I'm looking at this, then glancing over at the HTC Advantage sitting next to me - hey, the U2000 is not that big. Of course, different horses for different courses as they say. The U2000 updates the U1000 we saw last year with WM6.5, and from the looks of things, not much else. They both have Marvell 624MHz processors, 3.2MP cameras, and 5" WVGA screens. Good luck trying to find a non-Chinese OS version though.

QiGi Smartbook U1000 Sports 5" Screen

Posted by Nurhisham Hussein in "Other Windows Phones" @ 07:00 PM

Shame we won't see this outside of China, but this has a monster screen (5" WVGA), with more than a few nods to the HTC Advantage - the Dopod version also carried the U1000 label. Apart from that, there's very little published on the specs (you can check the Google translation of the original review here). The translation is much worse than usual and some of the pics (and the language) are a little risque, so be warned.

QiGi i6 Does Android and Windows Mobile

Chinese company, QiGi, is offering consumers one thing so many of its competitors don't: choice. The i6 officially supports Android and Windows Mobile. Unfortunately, dual-boot isn't an option - you have to pick one OS and stick with it until you choose to install the other. OSes aside, it packs a Marvell 624MHz processor, 128MB RAM, 256MB ROM, a 2.8" QVGA (240 x 320) touch screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 2.0-megapixel camera. Of course, you're probably never going to see this one outside of China. Still, if you had such a device, which OS would you choose and why?
