Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X2a Appears, Still Delayed

So, it appears that the XPERIA X2 has been re-badged as the XPERIA X2a for North America, though less newsworthy is the fact that it's still "coming soon". Considering that Sony Ericsson had originally planned to release the X2 in Q4, then seemed pretty sure of itself that it would be ready for the first week of January, only to break that promise, we're starting to wonder if the X2 is ever going to show at all. Yes, folks, at this point in time, the X2 seems destined to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor: delay after delay until the competition blows it away.

Touch Pro2 Delayed?

Posted by Ed Hansberry in "Pocket PC News" @ 09:30 AM

T-Mobile was expected to release the Touch Pro2 on July 22 in the US, but now there are rumors that it could be delayed until early August. Of course, and this is the device I am waiting on. My old phone died and I've resurrected my HTC Universal for daily duty. I seriously need a new device. My three week wait may have just become five or six weeks. Ugh.

Update: T-Mobile's official Twitter account has confirmed that the Touch Pro2 will make it this summer.

Motorola's Alexander and Attila Shipments Postponed

Posted by Darius Wey in "Pocket PC News" @ 09:30 AM

"Compal Communications has received orders for two Windows Mobile-based PDA phones, codenamed the Alexander and Attila, from Motorola, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report. While both PDA phones are supporting 3.5G and Wi-Fi technologies, the Alexander features a sliding-out QWERTY keyboard and the Attila features an iPhone-like touch panel, said the paper, which also noted that shipments of the two PDA phones are now set in the first quarter of 2009 instead of the fourth quarter of 2008 as originally planned."

According to a Commercial Times report, Motorola's Alexander and Attila won't make an appearance until Q1 2009. Leaks suggest the two aren't blessed with amazing features, so unless there are some hidden extras, Motorola will probably have a tough time pitting these against the competition.
