Opensource Media Decoders For Windows Mobile
Posted by Nurhisham Hussein in "Windows Phone Software" @ 06:30 PM
Taking a break from Windows Phone 7 news, we have something that you can actually use right now. Christian Adam has released a set of open source Windows Mobile decoders for Ogg Vorbis, Speex, Theora and (I think) FLAC, under the Open Codecs project. The codecs support all versions of Windows Mobile between 5.0-6.5, and seek is disabled for all but FLAC. If you're one of those who haven't yet plopped for a third party media player like CorePlayer, here's your chance to break out of the constraints of having to convert your media to mp3/wma/wmv. If you've tried these, let us know how you get on.
