Microsoft's Live Anywhere... Not So Anywhere.

"At the Microsoft's press briefing at E3 2006, Bill Gates came on stage to introduce Live Anywhere, an ambitious company initiative to integrate the Xbox 360 experience into everyday life via mobile phones. Nearly two years later, Live Anywhere has yet to materialize. Is Live Anywhere dead?... With iPhone’s SDK on the horizon and the continued proliferation of Facebook applications — including one to tag profiles with Xbox 360 gamertags — we wondered what happened to the once-promising Live Anywhere. The impressive demonstrations from years back have seemingly remained nothing more than that: demos."
Gamers, you wanted that console experience on your mobile device with Live Anywhere for Windows Mobile, but the word from Microsoft is that it's not coming anytime soon, although it does remain part of the company's Xbox Live vision. Probably the last thing you want to hear after today's announcement from Apple, with Spore and Super Monkey Ball to rub salt in the wound. Oh well, baby steps.
