Jason Langridge On The i-Mate 8150
Posted by Jon Westfall in "HARDWARE" @ 10:57 AM
"Just before Christmas I managed to get my hands on one of the i-mate Ultimate 8150 devices. The new i-mate devices have been long awaited and the 8150 is the first device I've had a chance to try from the new range. The device itself is average in size with it's official measurements at: 118.5mm x 60.5mm x 15.5mm. The specifications are what really excite people about the new Ultimate range. The devices all come with an Intel Bulverde 520MHz Processor, 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM. The screen itself on the 8150 is a 2.6" VGA (640x480) Touch screen and the device also provides an XGA Out capability (1024x768) meaning you can plug the device into a screen or projector really easily."
Jason Langridge has snagged an 8150 for some fun and geek games and has written up a nice mini-review of it on his site. I share his frustration with 12-key devices, preferring to have a full mini-keyboard. But if you're looking for a device with a pretty sweet display, phone-style keypad, and the fast Bulverde processor - check out the 8150!
