Free Mobile MySpace On the Way
Posted by Paul Martin in "NEWS" @ 01:06 PM
"News Corporation is planning to make a beta mobile version of MySpace freely available beginning this week. Not all features will be available, but users will be able to send and receive messages and friend requests, comment on pictures and profiles, post bulletins, update blogs, find and search for friends, and view or change mood status. The free MySpace push is part of a larger plan to offer free mobile content from News Corporation, which owns MySpace and other sites such as AskMen and RottenTomatoes.com. All the sites will be supported by targeted mobile advertising."
Myspace is now following your space. For a while, the only way to get Mobile Myspace in the US was through a paid service on devices from AT&T, T-Mobile and Helio. CNN's coverage of the story said it would be live on Monday, but as of Tuesday afternoon it still wasn't working, so I guess it's a case of "Watch this (my)space". When it goes live, you can find the beta site at http://mobile.myspace.com/.
