Symantec to Release Updated Mobile Security Tools

"Next week, Symantec Corp. will broaden its mobile security product line by shipping new products designed for Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Mobile devices. The software will come in two versions: a consumer product called Norton Mobile Security for Smartphones and Symantec Mobile Security 5.0, designed for enterprise users. Both versions will be available May 29, a company spokesman said Monday."

- While the antivirus is unnecessary for most applications, it may be handy for handling email attachments -- something that's increasingly used in corporate environments. More importantly, though, I think some of the other features (especially remote admin) may be of interest to enterprises.
- I'm not sure I trust Symantec to release a piece of reliable security management software that doesn't slow down the system significantly.
