UPDATE: O2 Germany Shipping its First WM6 Smartphone
Posted by Paul Martin in "HARDWARE" @ 11:30 AM
"O2 Germany is ready to release its first Windows Mobile 6 smartphone next week, starting from May 1st - the O2 Xda terra aka HTC Herald. Not that the Xda terra is - hardware-wise - anything new (since it is based on HTC'S Herald reference design), but it's O2 Germany's first available Windows Mobile 6 Pocket PC Phone Edition (with Windows Mobile 6 known as Professional smartphone) and the first available Windows Mobile 6 PDA in the market anyway. Features stay unchanged to the original Windows Mobile 5 Herald..."
According to Arne Hess, the German-only 200 MHz Xda terra will have quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, WiFI b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 and includes 64 MB RAM and 128 MB ROM plus expansion through a microSD slot. It will be offered for 79.99 Euro with a 24 month contract. Check out more info at the::unwired.
UPDATE: Why wait until May 1st? Arne has an update that O2 Germany has started selling and shipping the Xda terra now.
