DualCor cPC: Too Little, Too Late?
Posted by Raphael Salgado in "ARTICLE" @ 08:00 AM
"CarryPad indicated word that the DualCor cPC was beginning to ship out to resellers only to have a commenter named "DualCor" indicate that the unit is not shipping in the U.S. yet as the device is not finalized. For a device that had expected availability in the first quarter of 2006. We're now into the 3rd quarter of 2006, but still no device (and still no integrated wireless connectivity of any kind either); not only will this be a case of "too little, too late" when the device is finally spotted in the wild, but I'm still failing to see the point of the device at all."
I know this has been talked about before, but Kevin Tofel at JKontheRun.com brings up some interesting points on the elusive and questionable DualCor cPC, which I personally believed it could've been the "Holy Grail" of Windows Mobile devices until all the connectivity options became... well, optional. :?: Did DualCor spend all this time and effort to release a doomed product, or could it actually be a successful, niche device? Unfortunately for them, I'm glad I never placed an order for a cPC and redirected my cash towards the Sony UX180P, which thankfully arrives today. ;)
