MARA's "Top 10" Most Critical Wireless and Mobile Security Vulnerabilities
Posted by Janak Parekh in "THOUGHT" @ 12:00 PM
"Inspired by the SANS Top 20, this list is a consensus of industry experts on wireless and mobile vulnerabilities that require immediate remediation. It is offered as a public service by the Mobile Antivirus Researcher’s Association (www.mobileav.org). We welcome your feedback; this is a “living” document that will be updated frequently."
There is nothing really surprising on this list; issues include open WiFi networks, Bluetooth exploits, cleartext passwords, mobile code, and so on. MARA correctly states that the biggest issue is probably stolen devices, but also warns that other items shouldn't be overlooked. If you're a company doing due diligence on mobile device and/or wireless deployment, or if you're an individual user looking to secure your information, this article might be worth a quick glance.
