New Screen Technologies to Help Prolong Battery Life
Posted by Raphael Salgado in "ARTICLE" @ 08:00 AM
"Two new screen technologies were shown off this week which could reduce the power strain on mobile devices. Both technologies significantly reduce the power required to light a display, which is typically the majority of a device's power drain."
Whether it's a PDA or a notebook/UMPC, it's widely known that the LCD display is one of the most power-hungry portions of the device, so it's always good to know that they are continuing to pursue methods of reducing its power consumption. How soon and how effective (both in manufacturing costs and battery life improvement) are yet to be seen in a real world scenario, but I'm for it as every little bit counts.
