CHT, Microsoft, HTC and Dopod to Launch New 3G Pocket PC Phone Edition in Taiwan

"Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) yesterday signed an agreement with Microsoft, High Tech Computer (HTC) and Dopod International to launch a high-end 3G PDA phone in Taiwan in June. The 3G PDA phone, which will be manufactured by HTC and marketed by Dopod, will run on Microsoft's Window Mobile OS, and will feature push e-mail and RSS functionalities and a Chinese interface made to CHT's specifications, according to sources at CHT."
It's uncertain whether this is a CHT/Dopod-branded, customised HTC Hermes (would you call it high-end?) or a different 3G device altogether. We'll know more starting June 20 when the device is expected to sell for NT$25,000 (~US$781).
