Track Yourself & Others Easily With 3d Tracking
Posted by Jon Westfall in "SOFTWARE" @ 04:00 AM
"3d tracking is a revolutionary way to use the Internet to either monitor the movements of a live vehicle/person or to display a previous route that's been travelled. The vehicle/person's path is displayed as a line on either Google Earth or Google Maps with details of the speed at each point along the route. This allows you to follow the progress of a live vehicle, watching the points appear on the map as the vehicle moves. Alternatively you can view the previously recorded path that a vehicle or person moved along."
Well, this certainly looks like a good way when exploring a new town to figure out how you missed your destination over and over again (And see yourself literally travelling in circles). Might also be useful if a friend is travelling somewhere foreign to them, but familiar to you - I can imagine some fairly interesting cell phone conversations revolving around "You just missed the turn!", etc.. I'll have to give this a try later, just for fun. After all, it's free!
