The Fujitsu-Siemens T800 Series and Product Roadmap
Posted by Darius Wey in "HARDWARE" @ 01:30 AM
Okay, no more teasing. While we aren't making any promises on the legitimacy of the following news, it seems valid enough to put an end to the topsy-turvy events that transpired over the past few months.
Key not included.
First, we'll focus on the upcoming Fujitsu-Siemens T800 Pocket PC Phone Edition series (pictured above). According to Pocketinfo.nl, two models, the T810 and the T830, will be officially released on July 15 and July 3 respectively (note they'll also be unveiled for the first time at 3GSM on February 13). With the exception of the two-megapixel camera in the T830, they're essentially the same model: Intel XScale 416MHz processor, 64MB RAM, 128MB ROM, a 240 x 240 display, GSM and UMTS support, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, integrated GPS (SiRFstar III), an SDIO/SD/MMC slot, a thumb-board, and of course, Windows Mobile 5.0. It'll measure in at 4.9" x 2.5" x 0.8" (12.6cm x 6.4cm x 2.1cm) and weigh 6.7oz (190g). iPAQ hw6900 killer? Most likely.
Now, we catch a glimpse of the Fujitsu-Siemens product roadmap for 2006 (from Brighthand). The high-end N500 series model, the N560, will be here in March with some very nice specs to please the geeks amongst us (624MHz processor, VGA screen, GPS, among other things). Those of you who can't wait until March can settle for a similar offering in February where the C550 will offer a 520MHz processor, a 3.5" VGA screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB-Host.
Dell and HP, where are you? ;)
