Every once in a while, there is a vulnerability so serious and potentially so widespread I post on it here since most of you are using some flavor of Microsoft Windows. Microsoft was scheduled to release the patch on January 10, 2006 on their regular patch schedule. They have since reversed course and should be making it available after 2pm PST today, so be on the lookout for it.
Update: The patch seems to be available already (12:30PST) with Automatic Update. One of my workstations just downloaded it via AU.
