Posted by Darius Wey in "HARDWARE" @ 01:00 PM
"Taiwan-based handset vendor Dopod International launched its first GPS-enabled PDA, the Dopod P100, for the Taiwan market on November 23. The P100 will also be available in China and other Southeast Asian countries in December, according to company president Jack Tong. The launch of the GPS-enabled device is part of Dopod's plan to expand its product mix beyond its current lineup of smartphones and PDA phones, Tong stated."
Otherwise known as the HTC Galaxy, Dopod's P100 is a GPS-enabled Pocket PC running Windows Mobile 5.0. It features a Samsung S3C2440M 300MHz processor, 32MB RAM, 64MB Flash ROM, a 2.8" 240 x 320 (QVGA) 64K TFT-LCD, SDIO/MMC, mini-USB, integrated GPS, IrDA (SIR), Bluetooth 1.2, 802.11b Wi-Fi, and a 1100mAh Li-Ion battery. Tong was quick to say that ten new smartphones and PDA phones could be expected in 2006. Next year should be a busy year for Windows Mobile. :)
