Geek.com's Extensive Review of HTC's Wizard
Posted by Janak Parekh in "ARTICLE" @ 11:00 AM
"My quest to see if there is anything that can knock the Treo 650 out of my hands was recently helped out by David Weiniger, who offered to have a QTEK 9100 (HTC Wizard) sent to me from Sound Solutions. I was surprised by his e-mail since the QTEK is still a couple weeks away from full release, but I realized that the unit I was sent is a pre-production device, and the splash screen even states that it is a test unit. As a result, the QTEK 9100 had a few issues, and I was ready to give it 3.5 Geekheads (out of 5) for Quality and 4.5 for Geekness. David then told me he was shipping out an I-mate K-JAM production model, so I decided to be fair to the device and wait until I could verify whether the issues I was seeing were related to the test device. I am extremely pleased to say that the K-JAM production model is much better, and I may have found a replacement for my Treo 650."
Matt Miller, over from Geek.com, details a Treo 650 user's experience with both a preproduction and a release-quality Wizard. It's a long but excellent and thorough review -- just the kind I like -- with lots of pictures, screenshots and personal experiences. After reading this, I really want a Wizard; the only thing holding me back is the miniSD slot. If you're interested, you ought to take a look. Oh, and give him some feedback on equivalent applications on the Windows Mobile platform -- amongst others, he doesn't know of a good backup app. I wonder what you guys would suggest. :P
