This Week's Developer News

Posted by Jon Westfall in "DEVELOPER" @ 12:33 AM

For the developers out there, you may be interested in the following few articles:

First, Don Sorcinelli has posted a nice article on the State & Notification Broker API. If you're interested in using some of those API calls for your applications, or just want to learn more about how your applications can respond to changes in their OS environment, here is some reading for you.

If you're worried about WM 5's new registry model of keeping it in RAM and flushing changes periodically to persistant storage? The Windows Mobile Team Blog has a piece explaining RegFlushKey and what sorts of events will trigger this so you don't have to.

Finally, our sister site Smartphone Thoughts has posted a link to a nice overview on MSDN regarding the bigger picture of WM 5 when it comes to the enhanced APIs present in this version of Windows Mobile over its previous versions.

That should keep you busy, aspiring and seasoned WM Developers!
