PocketNow Helping to Speed Software Compatibility Resolutions for WM5
Posted by Ekkie Tepsupornchai in "SITES & RESOURCES" @ 12:00 PM
"As you all know, the upgrade to Windows Mobile 5 is taking place at a slow (but steady) pace as end-users redeem their coupons for the upgrade or buy new devices. As such, there hasn't yet been a need for ubiquitous WM5-compatible software, but the need is slowly growing. There have been sporadic forum posts on various handheld sites that spot which programs work and which don't on WM5, but I'm sure you would all agree that there's a need for a centralized, community-driven destination."
If you've been tracking the initial feedback regarding WM5, you're undoubtedly noticing that we're once again seeing the 3rd-party software compatibility and reliability issues that inevitably come with every upgraded OS platform. In response, PocketNow is hosting a new site called WM5FixSite.com. It is a community where users can log their issues with regards to their favorite applications and WM5. On the flip side, developers can use the site as an information board to track those issues and keep the community notified on resolution progress and delivered fixes. This sounds like a win-win situation for everyone, so if (or when) you start using WM5, be sure to contribute!
