Mio Officially Announce A701: Pocket PC Phone with Integrated GPS
Posted by Jonathon Watkins in "HARDWARE" @ 02:00 PM
"As versatile as the legendary Swiss Army penknife, the new Mio A701 is a combination of integrated GPS, mobile phone and PDA. Taking a fully functional quad-band (GSM/GPRS) Windows smartphone as it's starting point - again, based on the Microsoft Magneto operating system - the A701 adds a fully-featured PDA with a 2.7 inch TFT touchscreen 3 and [an] ultra-sensitive GPS receiver. . . A lightning-fast 520 MHz Intel processor 4 and 192 MB of internal memory means the A701 is just as suited to speedy route calculation and mapping as it is to email and gaming. One of the most fashionable and stylish devices on the market, the A701 also includes a 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth connectivity"
We've previously posted about the A701, but this time it's official. This snazzy looking Pocket PC Phone Edition device will be running WM5 and should be available by the end of the year. There's no word on pricing yet and sadly, it does not have WiFi as many had hoped for. Still, it's an extremely compelling device regardless. There are a few more pictures of the device at InfosyncWold if you are interested. I certainly am! ;-)
