Macromedia Announces the Pocket PC Flash Content Contest Winners
Posted by Darius Wey in "EVENT" @ 10:30 PM
"On March 29 Macromedia opened the Pocket PC Flash Contest to developers who wanted to flex their Flash prowess to win one of eight Apple iPods or the grand prize a 42-inch plasma TV! The contest was meant to challenge developers to see how fast and easy mobile development is with Macromedia Flash and to showcase the next generation of mobile applications."
A few months ago, I posted on Macromedia's Pocket PC Flash Content Contest, where developers across the world were encouraged to submit their mobile Flash applications in the following categories: most innovative use of Flash, best animation, best business application, best educational content, best game, best interactive content, best productivity application, and best overall use of Flash. The winners have just been announced and they are:
Grand Prize Winner: Temples of Taipei, by Charlie Tai
Most Innovative Use of Flash: Unplugged TV: The Chelsea Project, by Olga Sa (Unplugged TV)
Best Animation: Ng Met Lee, by John Chan (Postgal Workshop)
Best Business Application: FlashAirlines, by Massimo Falvo (01design)
Best Educational Content: History of Achaemenids, by Pooya Partovi Azar (Negin Co. Ltd.)
Best Game: Der Vampier, by Normal Stams (Chromotronic)
Best Interactive Content: Temples of Taipei, by Charlie Tai
Best Productivity Application: The Negotiator, by Cody Tolmasoff
Best Overall Use of Flash: ExlibPDA, by Ivan Moen
These Flash applications are a blast to play with, and because they can be downloaded at the Macromedia Pocket PC Exchange (an account is needed), I recommend you check them out.
