Extend360 Now Available for Pocket PCs

"Fiberlink Communications Corp. today announced the release of its flagship Extend360 mobile access software for use on Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs. Extend360 is a comprehensive mobile access software package that combines the industry's most extensive suite of transport options, including dial-up, Wi-Fi, wide-area wireless and broadband access, with endpoint security services to enable mobile workers to safely connect to their corporate network anytime, anywhere. Windows Mobile Operating Software accounted for 46 percent of worldwide PDA operating systems shipped in the first quarter of 2005. By offering broad support for mobility platforms such as Windows Mobile, Fiberlink now enables remote and mobile workers to access vital network resources while working away from the office using Fiberlink's Extend360 access software on their inter-connected PDAs."
With the recent Gartner reports showing a boom in the adoption of Windows Mobile devices, Fiberlink Communications saw this as a great opportunity to jump aboard and provide Pocket PC support for their Extend360 software. There is now immediate compatibility with Windows Mobile 2003 devices equipped with Wi-Fi or wide-area wireless connections. Windows Mobile 5.0 support will be added as soon as a new batch of devices are released.
