Samsung Messaging Phone, Inspired By MPx?

"Information surfaced this week on the FCC web site about a new Samsung messaging phone with a QWERTY thumb keyboard. The Samsung SGH-D307 appears to be Samsung's answer to other recent messaging phones such as the Motorola A630 and LG F9100. The device has a dual-flip hinge similar to the Motorola MPx, allowing the phone to be opened like a typical clamshell to place calls, or horizontally for typing."
While this device isn't Windows Mobile, I'm glad to see someone running with the idea of a flip hinge -- I think it holds promise, as the portrait view is easier to hold as a phone, while landscape makes for a better messaging experience. I'm curious to see if Motorola eventually delivers a successor to the now-defunct MPx, and if so, whether it'll use such a model.
