Loox Owners - Whip Out Your Soldering Guns!
Posted by Jon Westfall in "HARDWARE" @ 09:00 AM
"Wonko over at firstloox.org forums (second post from the bottom) has found a German link to a schematic (by “Grundy“) that for the first time lists the pin connections necessary for a Fujitsu-Siemens Loox 720 (VGA, 128Meg RAM, long-ish battery life) to have an audio cradle. There’s a lot more to do, including some soldering and testing by more people, but it’s the first real indication of this capability since Fujitsu placed “- Audio Out on cradle connector” on a ROM update description dated August 11, 2004. And one of the main reasons I settled on the Loox 720."
If you're a Loox owner who wants to get Audio Out from their cradle, here are some nice instructions for doing so. It requires a bit of soldering skill, but if that's not a problem for you, you can now enjoy audio out in ways you had only imagined. Cool!
