"[At CeBIT]. . . Navman Europe is announcing the launch of the new Navman PiN 570. This fully-fledged global positioning systems (GPS) navigation solution . . . comes in a stylish tungsten and graphite casing. Its compact form has the GPS receiver discreetly tucked away at the rear - just flip the module skywards and let the PiN 570 guide you. The PiN 570 is supplied with an SD memory card with pre-installed maps of the UK, a sturdy windscreen mount, 12V vehicle power cable and protective carry case."

This new Pocket PC is clearly designed primarily for GPS usage and the styling and grey colour scheme should fit right in with most car's dashboards. ;-) The OS listed is Windows Mobile 2003 (not 2003SE) running on a 266Mhz Samsung CPU, with 64Mb RAM (no word on ROM), a SD/MMC slot and a 3.5 inch QVGA screen. The best part is the inclusion of Navman's new SmartST 2005 software. The PiN 570 will cost around £349 (€499) and should be available for sale at the beginning of May 2005. The specification seems a bit ho-hum at first, but it helps if you think of this device as a reasonably priced all-in-one GPS unit with added Windows Mobile goodness.
