Potential Problems with Clio NXT Availability?
Posted by Jonathon Watkins in "NEWS" @ 02:00 AM
". . . [T]he Clio NXT from Data Evolution is the updated version of the much-ballyhooed Clio C-1050. The 1050 was a beautiful unit with a unique swingarm attaching the keyboard and screen. This swingarm allowed the screen to be flipped up, like a notebook computer, but would also allow the screen to keep rotating. The result was that the screen could sit on top of the keyboard, allowing the Clio to be used as a tablet as well. . . . I hate to do it, but I have to ask if there is going to BE a Clio NXT and, if so, WHEN will it be available?"
Darren Humphries from Smart Mobile Assets is understandably enthusiastic about the Windows CE powered Clio NXT as it's a well specified unit and has a elegant and compelling form factor. However, he's also nervous about when/if Data Evolution will release it. The Clio was offered for pre-sale by Data Evolution in December with a US$200 discount and Darren has been in contact with the CEO of the company. However things have gone very quiet since then and the release date seems to be slipping. It seems so close, yet so far away. What do you guys reckon? Can anyone in the know confirm when/if this device will turn up? The people have a right to know, you know. ;-)
