Samsung, Freescale Demo UWB (Pocket PC?) Phone

"Samsung Semiconductor and Freescale Semiconductor have teamed up to include ultrawideband technology on a cell phone. The prototype phone, originally displayed at the 3GSM exposition in Cannes, France, includes a UWB used to quickly download information from a phone to the PC, such as an address book, ringtones, or other files."
The technology sounds interesting -- UWB, or Ultrawideband, is considered a possible future short-range high-speed networking technology -- but based on the picture, either Samsung stuffed it into a generic i700 Pocket PC Phone, or they just wanted to show a device to the public and didn't have their prototype handy. :P I'll be more curious once they have some concrete performance numbers up.
