Dark No More...
Posted by Jon Westfall in "UPDATE" @ 02:00 PM
Hello everyone.
As you may have noticed, I’m the person formerly known as dadarkmcse – now known by my legal moniker of Jon Westfall. I’m pretty psyched that I was asked to join up as a contributing editor-in-training here at PPCT, and wanted to let you guys know a little more about me.
I started playing with computers when I was in the second grade, and have been hooked ever since. I started my own small consulting business while still in high school, and have been messing around with web programming and such primarily since 1996 (In a past life, I was also into Pascal coding with Borland Delphi). I went to college in 2000 and decided that computers angered me when they didn’t work right, and that if I went into Comp Sci, I’d probably be the one called to fix them more than use them… So I decided I’d study something a bit more interesting to me: Humans. I recently received my bachelors in psychology, and am currently in the cognitive psychology M.A.-PhD program at The University of Toledo.
In addition to my “day job” I’m also the technical manager for a small web hosting business (playing around with windows and red hat linux boxes when things go really wrong…) and periodically drop in at The University of Akron to teach a Saturday computer class now and then (I used to teach A+ Certification for 3 years there).
Surprisingly, I still have lots of idle time on my hands (Just ask my fiancé about that), so I’m looking forward to hanging out here, answering questions, posting news, and generally helping to grow the awesome user community we have at PPCT!
