Seagate Start Shipping 5Gb CompactFlash Drives Soon

"Seagate has finally unveiled their new 5GB CompactFlash drive. The 1-inch drive, which’ll also come in a 2.5GB version, should be out next month and is mainly aimed at pro digital photographers who can never have enough storage space for all those RAW image files (though we’re betting this thing will also start showing up in portable media players and maybe even camcorders and PDAs before too long"
Yup, embedding these in new PPCs sounds like a good use of these cards. However at the moment 5Gb isn't sounding large enough to tempt me to pop one in my CF slot. Still, these could be compelling if the price is far lower and the capacity is far higher than equivalent Flash cards.
