It's apprently the Mobile Data Association's (MDA's) 10th anniversary and they have been giving out some awards. The MobMDA is a non-profit, global association for vendors and users of mobile data and their advisors. One award was given to the most innovative product that has made the most significant difference to the mobile data industry over the last 10 years. The winner was:
"Windows Mobile based Pocket PC platform: first launched in April 2000, Pocket PC has risen from a starting point of under 10% market share to over 50% in Western Europe, in the space of 4 years. The product is now synonymous with mobile computing and has revolutionised what we think of when it comes to a PDA."
There was an interesting choice of competition from the Motorola T260, Apollo, Brand, Motorola and Microsoft. OK...... Spot any obvious omissions? Despite the competition, I'm sure that all fair-minded folks will agree that the award is heartily deserved.
