Posted by Pat Logsdon in "SOFTWARE" @ 06:00 PM
"Toshiba America Information Systems Inc have announced the new Toshiba SoftIPT SoftPhone, which wirelessly extends the features and functionality of Toshiba desktop telephones to Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC, laptops, tablet PCs, and PCs running Windows 2000 or XP. The SoftIPT SoftPhone allows users to access their telephone features from virtually any location by connecting to the enterprise's Toshiba Strata CIX native IP business communications system or Strata CTX digital business communications system through 802.11 wireless networks. It will be available this fall."
There are quite a few features listed, but it's not clear which of them are usable on the Pocket PC client, nor is there a picture of what the client even looks like on the Pocket PC. (Helloooo Toshiba....) The features that contain the words "Pocket PC" are:
• Broadcast voice mails from the Pocket PC, laptop or PC
• Retrieve voice mail messages directly from the Pocket PC, laptop or PC
• Voice mail indicator light on the Pocket PC, laptop or PC screen
