PocketNow Reviews Pocket Earth

"You're planning a trip that will take in 15 Far East countries in two weeks and you'd really like to show your colleges what the route looks like. What would you use? You're listening to the radio and the news anchor says that the 10 most populated cities in the world are all suffering from waste-removal problems. Just what are the 10 most populated cities in the world? Where are they located? How would you find out? Earth software combines geographic and geopolitical information with a user interface that allows you to access it to answer questions like those above. Blue Point Studio brings this type of software to the Pocket PC with Pocket Earth."
As usual, PocketNow have done a very thorough review, with screenshots galore. Pocket Earth certainly looks spectacular and is overflowing with features. It works well in VGA and is definitely a program you can show to folks to demonstrate what your PPC is capable of. (Oooooh, pretty!) The only nagging feeling seems to be that this a bit of a 'Why? Because I Can' program. (Not that there's anything wrong with W?BIC? of course. ;-)) I.e. it looks spectacular, but what are you actually going to do with it, really? The PocketNow review is well worth a look, so you can make your own mind up about spending $19.95 on this eye candy. There's a trial version available, which runs 15 times, allowing you a hands on look, while you can buy the full program at Handango. [Affiliate]
