Another Pocket PC In The Movies
Posted by Brad Adrian in "THOUGHT" @ 01:00 AM
I just went to see the new movie, "The Bourne Supremacy" this afternoon. For the first few scenes of the movie, I wasn't quite sure whether I liked it or not. But then, one of the secret agent-type people quickly whipped out a Pocket PC. For a moment, I was elated to see the iPAQ 5500 on the big screen.
The filmmakers obviously knew that the 5500 has some form of fingerprint scanning capability. But, the guy in the movie used the screen of the iPAQ as a miniature flatbed scanner, using it to lift some fingerprints and zip them off to Intepol or somewhere for matching. Oh, well. At least it was a Pocket PC and not one of those "other" devices.
I know I've seen Pocket PCs in a few other movies, including a James Bond flick, but I can't recall any others. Anybody remember seeing a Pocket PC in a movie?
