An anonymous Pocket PC Thoughts reader spotted the new rz1715 iPAQ Pocket PC on the Sams Club Web site. Here are the highlights:
"• Operating system: Microsoft® Windows® Mobile™ 2003 software for Pocket PC – ProfessionalPocket versions of Microsoft software are included (Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet Explorer for Pocket PC)
• Processor: 203 MHz Samsung 2410 processor
• Display: 3.5” (89mm) Transflective type QVGA TFT, Portrait and Landscape modes
• Memory: Up to 25MB user available memory, including 10MB iPAQ File Store
• Interfaces: IrDa – Supported (Serial IR), USB – Supported via cable interface, Serial – Supported, Sync / Data Connector – Full RS 232 support
• Power: Internal Rechargeable 950 mAh Lithium-lon battery; estimated usage time of fully charged battery is up to 7 hours; charging time up to 4 hours; AC Power -- AC Input: 100~240 Vac, 50/60 Hz
• Expansion: SD Slot – Support 4-bit SDIO and 4-bit SD/MMC type memory standard.
• Dimensions: 4.48” x 2.75” x 0.53”
• Weight: 4.23 oz."
On the surface, this looks like the guts from an iPAQ 1935 shoved into the shell of a 4700. No stunning high-end features, but a decent price point - though the Dell Axim X30 is less expensive and seems to offer a bit more.
UPDATE: Looks like Sams Club has the wrong photo. Image above courtesy of Bargain PDA.
