GoodLink for Pocket PC Phone Edition Released
Posted by Jonathon Watkins in "SOFTWARE" @ 05:00 PM
Pat recently posted about Smartner Duality push email and mentioned GoodLink. Funnily enough, Good Technology have just announced a version of GoodLink that works on Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Software for Pocket PC Phone Edition. What is Goodlink you ask?
"GoodLink, which is part of the Good System, is a standards-based wireless messaging and corporate data access system that provides mobile field forces with a two-way wirelessly synchronized connection to Microsoft Exchange Server (enterprise email, contacts, calendar, notes and tasks) and other critical applications like CRM, ERP and SCM. GoodLink's robust architecture is FIPS certified and incorporates AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) end-to-end encryption of all email, data and attachments in Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, HTML, PDF and RTF file formats. GoodLink includes synchronizing server software, security and application software for managing multiple networks and a variety of devices including the Good(TM) G100, the Treo 600 (Palm OS) and Windows Mobile(TM)-based Pocket PC devices." So there you have it.
Inbox Preview on Device
The aim is to offer a "rich, wireless, full Outlook-like visual experience" and the main functions include:
• Corporate email, folders, contacts, calendar, notes and tasks
• Email preview pane and highlighted messages marked important.
• Cradle-free, real-time, wireless synchronization
• Open, edit and save Word, Powerpoint and Excel attachments in their native formats.
• Rich Third-party Formats: Adobe Acrobat, Word Perfect, JPEG, GIF, HTM, HTML
• Media players: Windows Media® Player 9 Series for Pocket PC, RealPlayer
For more details you can visit Good's website. It's always good to have more options for receiving wireless messages on the PPC. Jolly good.
