APRIL FOOLS: Welcome to OQO Thoughts!
Posted by Jason Dunn in "THOUGHT" @ 06:36 AM
I've been waiting for this moment for months: Pocket PC Thoughts is now OQO Thoughts, and I couldn't be happier! :D The people at OQO sent me one of their units in September 2003, and I wasn't expecting to be very impressed. Was I? No. I was blown away. 8O The OQO is an amazing device, superior to every Pocket PC I own, in every way. Boasting a 1 Ghz processor, a 20 GB hard drive, 256 MB of RAM, 802.11b WiFi, Firewire, USB, and Windows XP, the OQO is the next generation of handheld computing. With the OQO I am no longer held down by the limitations of the Pocket PC. Sure, it might take 60 seconds for me to look up a phone number, but I can run Neverwinter Nights on it! Can you believe it? As a young boy I often dreamt such a dream - unfettered power in my hands, and the shiny green button down in the lower left corner. I love that shiny green button.
I hope you'll join with me on this new journey of discovery as we unwrap the bountiful mystery that is the OQO. This is just the beginning.

PS - I'm writing this on a next-generation OQO unit that should be shipping by April 1st of 2005 - it has a 3.2 Ghz CPU, a massive 120 GB hard drive, and a full gig of RAM. Pricing will be a little high ($5000 USD), and battery life is somewhat short at only 1.1 hours but it's still way, way cooler than a Pocket PC, even it costs ten times as much. Break free of your chains my former Pocket PC brethren! Join the revolutionary OQO brotherhood, even if it means getting a second mortgage on your home to buy one!
