IF I Were Out of Shape, I Could Really Use This Software
Posted by Brad Adrian in "SOFTWARE" @ 02:00 AM
I don't know if somebody's trying to tell me something, but I've been getting e-mail announcements for from Biomobility's Mobile Coach all week. I can tell you, though, that if I ever get motivated to whip my svelte 6'3", 210-pound physique into shape, these are the features I'd look for in a Pocket PC-based health and exercise tracking tool.
"Log foods, graph calorie distribution, enter workouts with ease, use templates and training plans, analyze data with graphs"
Mobile Coach includes the following features:
Familiar calendar style interface for ease of use. Includes day, week, month, food, and reports views.
Food Database with over 3,000 items, and the ability to add in your own food items.
Built in training plans for 5k run, 10k run, marathon, century bike ride, and body for life.
Templates for VERY easy entry of strength workouts.
Drag and drop and cut-copy-paste functions for moving and rescheduling workouts.
Calculate your estimated metabolic rate, calories burned during exercise, calories consumed, and calories remaining for the day.
Displays a pie graph of protein, carbohydrate, and fat intake, along with grams of each.
Includes calorie burn rates for over 45 different activities, and you can add in your own or modify the existing activities.
Calculates pace and speed for distance activities like running, biking, or swimming.
Extensive measurements logging lets you keep track of your progress in up to 17 different areas.
Over 90 different combinations of built in graphs/reports.
Free desktop backup/restore utility, with optional automatic backup every time you synchronize your device.
Mobile Coach won't make your wallet much thinner, though. Theres a free demo available and you can get the full licensed version for only $15.99 from Handango.
