Pocket MVP Now Works With Windows Mobile 2003
Posted by Brad Adrian in "SOFTWARE" @ 11:09 PM
One of the most-used applications on my Pocket PCs has always been Pocket Music and Video Player (MVP), which was formerly known as Pocket DivX. It is an excellent program for watching video clips and listening to music files, especially since it has a great playlist feature. Plus, it's totally FREE!
That's why I was so disappointed when I tried to install it on my 2003 device and it kept crashing. Now, though, the developers at WinCESoft have successfully updated this for Windows Mobile 2003.
The new version doesn't really have any enhancements, aside from a very cool new skin that's included. But just in case you've forgotten, here are all the great features that it does include:
10-Band Equalizer with Pre-Amp
PlayList Support
PlayList Editor
Web Streaming
Brightness Control (ARM devices only)
File Association Support
Hardware Button Mapping
Shuffle Play
90 degree Rotate
2:1 zoom
Bi-linear filtering for zoom mode
Dithering (ARM devices only)
Fast Forward
Seek Bar
Volume Control
Custom File Open Dialog
Custom Web View Streaming File Selection Dialog
Keep Alive for device shutoff suspension
Play At File Open option
Definable Caching for performance/power utilization
Supported Audio/Video Formats
Video: Divx, OpenDivX, Avi, MPEG-1 w/ FFMPEG mpeg video decoder
Audio: MP3 and Layer I + II Audio w/ MAD MP3 decoder
Note: When you click on link on the WinCESoft page for the Windows Mobile 2003 download, it may look like you end up on the page for the HPC version. Trust me; the download on this page is the one you want. You also should install Pocket MVP to internal memory for best operation.
