National Moment of Remembrance
Posted by Brad Adrian in "OFF-TOPIC" @ 01:00 AM
If you're living in a part of the world that observes Memorial Day on Monday, May 26, here is something that might make your remembrance a little more meaningful.
"The National Association for Music Education is partnering with The White House Commission on Remembrance to promote the National Moment of Remembrance and the new Memorial Day anthem, 'On This Day.' Americans worldwide are asked to pause at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day (May 26) as an act of national unity, remembrance, and rededication to the ideals upon which our nation was founded."
If you would like to download and/or listen to the new anthem or read the lyrics, you can do so here.
Whether or not we as individuals support military service, I think it's important to pause in thanks to those who have given their lives for the sake of our freedom. I really like the new anthem and hope it becomes part of our remembrance tradition.
