Error Fix: "Can't Find Player"
Posted by Jason Dunn in "SOFTWARE" @ 03:06 PM
There's a Pocket PC bug that seems to trouble a lot of people - I see this question asked almost daily in the Pocket PC multimedia newsgroup, and when someone posted the solution from HP tech support, I thought it was worth archiving the solution for reference.
"In order to resolve the issue, we suggest un-installing Windows Media Player on the iPAQ. After un-installing the same, please follow the below mentioned steps to re-install the Media Player.
1. Locate the folder 'Microsoft ActiveSync', 'Windows Media Player' on the
Desktop PC.
2. Delete the 'Windows Media Player' folder on the Desktop PC.
3. Synchronize the iPAQ with the Desktop PC.
4. Install Windows Media Player using the upgrade CD.
5. When the wizard prompts you to select the default directory, please make sure that it is set to:
'C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\Windows Media Player 8'.
After performing the above-mentioned steps, we suggest installing the Windows Media Player update that is available for download.
