"The game is played over 12 missions of increasing difficulty. In addition to the 'quick fix' of shooting things, there is a variety of different, well structured increasingly challenging mission criteria which mean that thought is required to progress - the Alien enemies have different weaknesses and attack modes. Later in the game the ability to manage resources becomes crucial to success, and the whole culminates in a furious blast against the Alien Mothership.
The game extracts maximum gaming performance from the Pocket PC platform, being played in ‘landscape’ mode and offering touchscreen ‘softkey’ controls for firing weapons and controlling speed. There is a choice of right- or left-handed operation, and players can re-define the default button configurations to suit their individual preferences."
Darxide EMP is priced at £12.99 and runs on Pocket PC PDA devices which use ARM architecture CPUs and run the Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 or Pocket PC 2002 Phone Edition operating systems.
