When you install an application from your desktop to your Pocket PC, ActiveSync will allow you to install it in RAM, in a flash ROM file store or on a storage card. When you install a CAB file directly on your device though, you get no choice. It goes into RAM. Until now that is!
CabInstl will let you install applications from CAB files where you choose. It has a few other features too like saving the CAB file after installing (they normally delete themselves) and just expanding the contents of the CAB file rather than installing. The application is free and apparently works on Pocket PC 2000 and 2002 devices, all processors. Thanks to Humphrey for the link.
