Another Bluetooth sped going after the speed crown, though it seems they're less ambitious than the 2.0 sped that wants to hit 10 mbps. This one aims to minimize the interference with 802.11b.
"Sweden's Ericsson Technology Licensing has begun to develop a prototype LSI in its laboratory that will be compliant with the high-speed Bluetooth specification. Its maximum data transfer rate will be two to three times higher than the conventional ones, and its device recognition time will be shortened, it said.
The company said that it would have a data transfer demonstration jointly with several companies at the end of 2002. That high-speed Bluetooth specification is called "Bluetooth Version 1.2." By making its packet format and modulation method the same as in the existing Version 1.1 to maintain compatibility, this specification aims to improve Bluetooth's basic functions." Source: 80211dude
