Warring States

I'm a big fan of strategy games, and this new freeware game is great fun! Excellent graphics, good gameplay. If you're a fan of games like RISK, check this out.

"Warring States is a turn based strategy game developed especially for pocket PC. The game takes place in the Warring states period (464-222 BC) in China. During this period a multitude of independent states were almost constantly at war with each other to achieve supremacy and hopefully build an empire. As ruler of one of these states, your ultimate goal is to conquer all states in order to unite them into one empire with one ruler, the Emperor of China. During the fight for supremacy you must lead your army into battle, collect taxes from your people, discover new inventions and fight against terrible invaders and local rebellions. But beware, your opponents will try to capture you as soon they have a chance and, if you don't find the elixir of life, you won't live forever. In Warring States you can choose among 8 different rulers to play, up to 4 computer opponents that follows the same rules as you and three levels of difficulty. Random starting positions together with a multitude of random events makes every game different and the best thing of all: Warring States is completely free."

For those that do try it out, I'm curious about something: it would seem quite "unfair" that army units are full force in every state there is. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in games like RISK if you chose to move 10 units of your army into a neighbouring territory, and you had 12 in your home province, you'd be left with two units to defend your homeland. That seems like reality - but in this game, it doesn't work that way.
