Part II of the Pocket PC Wireless Primer article is live, and this time it talks about GSM, GPRS, CDMA, and other wireless standards.
"Last week we started to get your Pocket PC on the wireless internet by telling you about the different services available in North America. Now that you have a good idea of who you'd like to get your service from, you need to know what is required to connect your Pocket PC that provider.<!>Some of the hardware you may have to purchase is available as a Compact Flash card, most Pocket PCs have a Compact Flash Slot. Other services require a PC Card, which require an adaptor. The @migo has a PC Card slot built in, but the Compaq iPAQs, HP Jornada 560s and the Casio e-200 all have PC Cards adaptors, which you can purchase separately. Finally some of these connectivity options are available as a sleeve specifically for Compaq iPAQs. We have done research to make this list as complete as possible, but there may be even more options than the methods we have outlined here as new products are always being released."
